This training complies with annual training requirements for fire brigades sited in 29 CFR 1910.156. This 8-hour class covers basic fire suppression techniques. The entire class is presented in the field utilizing live fire drills as the primary teaching technique.

This class is taught by certified fire instructors. The main emphasis of the class is the safety of the student since firefighting is an extremely dangerous activity. The instructor to student ratio in these classes are very low and strict adherence to safety rules is mandatory.

This course includes:

• Review of fireground safety rules
• Hose line advancement and manipulation techniques
• SCBA use
• Basic fire tactics and practical simulations including a search and rescue
